Michael Wells

Deputy Fire Chief, Longwood Fire Company in Chester County

Michael Wells is a dedicated fire service professional with roots in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Growing up about 40 minutes outside of Philadelphia, Wells was introduced to the fire service at a young age, following in the footsteps of his father, a past Fire Chief of their local Fire Company.


Wells began his journey in the Fire Service as a volunteer at the age of 14. Over the years, he steadily climbed the ranks, serving in various positions from Firefighter to Assistant Chief. His commitment and expertise in the field led to a significant career advancement in 2021 when he was hired full-time as the Deputy Fire Chief at Longwood Fire Company in Chester County.
In his current role, Wells oversees the day-to-day operations of the Fire Department, which comprises 50 employees and approximately 30 volunteers. Under his leadership, the department efficiently handles a substantial workload of around 1,300 Fire/Rescue incidents and 3,500 EMS incidents annually.
